Local Leagues

What is a local League?

The League of Women Voters is organized at the national (LWVUS), state (LWVID), and local level.

Idaho has four local Leagues as well the state-wide Members At Large (MAL). When you join your local League or as a MAL you also become a member of the state (LWVID) and the national League (LWVUS).

If you live in the Treasure Valley, Magic Valley, or anywhere else in Idaho that is not near one of the local Leagues listed below, join as a Member At Large (MAL).

What do local Leagues do?

  • Study and take action on local issues

  • Host forums about local issues for the community

  • Publish local political directories

  • Host candidate forums for local offices

  • Publish non-partisan voter guides for local elections

  • Provide information about state and national issues to their community
