League Action Needed on US House Resolution (H.R.) 3144
(1) Here's what's happening: HR 3144 - the harmful, anti-salmon, anti-orca bill was passed out of the House Natural Resources Committee passed the full House of Representatives.
(2) Here's what you can do (the alert): Send a letter to your Senators and let them know there's strong support for wild salmon and healthy rivers. Ask them to oppose HR 3144 when it comes to a vote.
This bill is very bad news not just for salmon, orca and fishing communities; it is also bad for federal laws, treaties and the courts - as it seeks to overturn several court rulings, roll back court-ordered salmon protections at the Columbia and Snake River dams, and derail an important court-ordered environmental review that must look at all salmon recovery options - including the removal of the lower Snake River dams.
