LWVKC Holds Essay Contest On "Electing the President: Electoral College vs. National Popular Vote" for Kootenai County Senior High School Students

Public Information: Winner's name and school name will be announced to press and posted on LWVID.org website. Sponsors will be listed on LWVID.org website. Contest announcement will be widely broadcasted. The CDA Press or other media outlets may announce event, sponsorships, and/or picture award recipients.

Entry Qualifications: Participants must live in Kootenai County and be enrolled in senior high school, grades freshman through senior; this includes public, private, and home school seniors.

How to Enter Essay Contest: All entries must be received by Monday, November 27, 2017, 11:59 p.m., to the email address: LisaSchaff1@hotmail.com, where a document number will be assigned. Subject line: "Electing the President: Electoral College vs. National Popular Vote." 1000 words or less. Plain text recommended, insert essay within email message. Please no attachments.

Prizes: Additional community sponsored prizes are anticipated. Updates will be posted to LWVID.org under the tab LWV Kootenai County Idaho/Essay Contest. The League of Women Voters of Kootenai County has pledged: First Place $100; Second Place $50, and Third Place $25. Sponsors may donate pledges payable to LWVKC Education Fund.

Important Dates: Monday, November 27, 2017, before 11:59 p.m., entry deadline; and

Monday, December 11, 2017, awards will be distributed.
